Call for Editor of the ISAST Electronic Book Series
Dear Colleague,
International Society for Advanced Science and Technology (ISAST)
seeks applicants for the position of editor or co-editors of the ISAST
Electronics Books to the following areas of sciences:
- Scientific Computing, Simulation, and Optimization;
- Intelligent Systems;
- Communications and Networking;
- Electronics and Signal Processing;
- Computers and Software Engineering;
- Nanotechnology;
- History of Computers and Communications;
- Emerging Topics of Information and Communication Sciences and Technology.
ISAST has international connections with over 300,000 scientists and engineers in
the academic and industrial world. ISAST also has connections with highly
respectable communities, such as IEEE.
We publish electronic books, which are easy to download - either
chapters or the entire book. The prices of those books are clearly lower
than paperback versions. This will lead to a situation where university
students and people in developing countries have better possibilities to
achieve important scientific information in a flexible way. The price of
the book depends on the country where it has been purchased. The
price of the book will be about 65 euros.
We offer to you to be the Editor of our Electronic book series. Your
commission will be about 10-20 percent depending on your contribution in
the task. If you edit the book "History of Computers and Communications",
your commission will be 15-25 percent.
Our goal is that internationally eminent scientists describe
essential topics of above-mentioned scientific branches, as
well as new research directions and results.
The size of books will be about 100-500 pages.
This page constraint is not valid in "History of Computers and
Communications" book or book series.
There should also be theoretic and computer programming-based
problems with questions and solutions.
Matlab is preferred as programming language. Also Matlab demonstrations
are suggested.
In "History of Computers and
Communications" book/book series there should
be included short biographies - about 5-10 pages/person -
of the most eminent pioneers of computer science as well as information
and communication technology.
The contents of the books should roughly be the following:
- About the Editor
- Dedications
- List of Contents
- Preface
- Acknowledments
- List of Figures
- List of Tables
- List of Symbols
- Introduction and Preview
- Contents (about 6-20 chapters); after each chapter: appendices,
problems and computer programs. Matlab is preferred as programming
language. Bibliographical notes and references.
- Index
- Biographies of the Authors
If you will want to be an Editor or Editor-in-Chief
of the electronic book,you should have recognized expertise in the field,
possess
editorial experience, and be able to lead an active editorial board in
working effectively with publishing professionals. You must have a
clear employer or institutional support for this activity for the duration
of the three-year appointment, including release time as necessary and
general office support.
If you feel that you fulfill these requirements, could you
send us the following information:
- your area/areas of interest/interests;
- what title you will (roughly) propose to the book that you want to edit;
- general theme of the book/series;
- earlier experience as the editor;
- list of publications;
- curriculum vitae;
- connections to those eminent scientists, who will be interested in
writing the chapter.
Our goal is also to press books in the paperback form.
The printing house is
Jyväskylä University Press.
On receipt of your response, the proposal will be submitted to the
Advisory
Board of International Society for Advanced Science and Technology
with University of Jyväskylä, Finland, University of California, Santa
Cruz, University of Maryland, MIT, Cambridge University, British Telecom,
and IEEE.
In case you find the task interesting and agree to undertake this
responsibility, please respond to us by e-mail at
